Highlights of Travel Guide to Orlando by Shelley Costello & Aberdeen Bay Publishing Co.

Hello friends from around the world and fellow Orlando Residents.

This week holds many great things to remember about Orlando. On Monday of this week Orlando’s famous mouse celebrated his 80th birthday. Yes, that’s right! Mickey Mouse had his 80th birthday.

Another shocking event this week was that it dipped down to 38 degrees in Orlando. Don’t let this discourage you from coming here to visit. It was a freezing 38 degrees (a night). The daytime is why we live in Orlando. Days are sunny, cool and crisp. It is an amazing feeling to walk out and stand in the warm sunshine with that cool crisp air. Yes, Florida at its best.

In my new book, the Aberdeen Bay Travel Guide to Orlando, I provide an entire chapter of the various months of the year and what visitor can expect. We saw on the news this week that a few brave souls were at Walt Disney world riding the water slide at Blizzard Beach. We guessed they may have been visitors from Alaska.

Restaurant Choice of the Week

Today we are reviewing one of Orlando's greatest places to eat. Bone Fish Grille is awesome.

Bone Fish Grille located at 7830 W Sand Lake Rd., Orlando, FL 32819(407) 355-7707. This is our first visit to Bone Fish grille. The atmosphere is very relaxing, elegant, yet casual. The food is wonderful beginning with the appetizers. For an appetizer I recommend the shrimp. If you love fish, the portion size is great.

Bone Fish is conveniently located to all the attractions and shopping. Bone Fish is located on Sand Lake road, 1 block pass Dr. Phillips Blvd. on the left. Try Bone Fish Grille today.

Orlando COOL Place

Two weekends ago we paid a visit to a very cool place in Orlando. Have you been to Aquatica?

Wet-N-Wild is great, but so is the cool water ride at Sea World's Aquatica water park. Aquatica is not as large as Wet-n-Wild in space, however Aquatica delivers the same amount of thrill!
I noticed one thing Aquatica had in common with Wet -n- Wild, the long line. This was in part because it was so hot out and it was the last very hot weekend before fall.
This time of year when it begins to get cool more visitors will be visiting the water parks than locals. Floridians have thin blood and feel the cold more than our friends from the northern states or other countries. We are the only Central Florida/Orlando travel reviewers. We are invited by many of the Orlando hotels, attractions, restaurants and hot spots to try their venue and review it here on our Orlando travel Blog.
Watch our next posting. We are going to review a great place to eat and a fun outing spot.
See you around O'Town

Around "O" Town

Hello Floridians and visitors,

It is the time of year that Floridians look forward to all year. It is October and we will get a break from our scorching hot summer. The dryer air is here making the temperatures cooler.

This week we took a trip around Orlando to see some things many of us that live here overlook. We did a tour of International Drive. Have you seen Wonder works?

I have been by this location many times, but this time photographing this building was fun. The next item was as we drove down International Drive I heard screams and looked up just in time to capture a photograph of the roller coaster climbing to the top.

Travel Review of the week--We are on the review trail this week of a restaurant. We will bring you the review. Stay in touch. Click the sidebar to be a follower of this blog.

Ahh... October & November The Perfect Time to Tour Central Florida!

Floridians and visitors, this is the time of year that we look forward to. If you are visiting one of our popular theme parks, or having fun with some other outdoor activities this is the perfect time of year to GET OUTSIDE!
Our humidity is gone and the weather is very pleasant. You can still enjoy the beaches, but these are the months to visit theme parks. The crowds at the parks are very short and it is much cooler to stand in line.
The rip currents are very bad at the coast this week. This weekend we are going to take a driving tour of the downtown Orlando area.
Stay tuned

Our First Stop September 27, 2008 Orlando Sea World

Sea World employees and experts say that annual pass holders will never be disappointed by returning to the park frequently. I did not know this, but apparently it is truth that Shamu and the whales never perform the exact same way twice.

We go out of our way to do the extra, be bold and go where many will not go to bring you the absolute best tour of Florida. This simply means that we waited over an hour to be the first in the stadium. We landed the very front row, aisle seats just literally inches from the railing where these whales come right up in your face. You could almost reach right out and touch them. With grace, beauty and precision they swim through the water and surprise you with as they slide right up on the platform in front of you.
"Believe" is the show that is currently on the schedule. This is a must see. We will take you back for the holiday shows. I hear the Christmas show is spectacular!
Now to set the record straight... don't let those sitting next to you in the stadium tell you that the front row center seats are safe. You will get soaked! Drenched! Dripping wet! We did manage to salvage our camera equipment. Next time I will shoot from inside a zip lock plastic baggie.
Don't let the water scare you off. This is absolutely amazing! The water is a freezing cold 52 degrees, and in the summer is quite refreshing. When we return in the cooler weather I might feel much colder. This is a recommendation. Now we have out travel tip on this adventure.
If you go to Sea World.com and click on the annual pass, you can create your own custom pass tailored just for your family. With the EZ pay plan you can get e-tickets right on your printer with very minimal down and they will charge you monthly for just a little over 8 bucks a month per ticket.
If you want to get to Sea World today get online and you can be on your way there in an hour.
